Reference-class DAC with 6.3 mm headphone output designed for professional studio users.
The NuPrime DAC-9X features six digital (including 2 x IIS/DSD) and one analog stereo input, RCA stereo and XLR balanced outputs, and decoding capability for PCM 384K, DSD256 and MQA.
It is a reference-class DAC designed for professional studio users and audiophiles. The DAC-9X also has a stereo headphone output with 6.3mm standard.

  • Dual ESS 32-bit DAC ESS9028Q2M, one for each channel.
  • USB PCM384, I2S PCM384, and DSD256
  • Supports MQA
  • Pre-stage with resistor network
  • Isolating vibration damping feet
  • Six digital inputs, one set of RCA analog in
  • Trigger out
  • USB Extension port for streaming (NuPrime Omnia Stream Mini, WR-2 or BTR-HD for blue tooth). This is a special port that provides S/PDIF signals and 5V power supply

Preamplifier section
To meet the requirements of customers who want to eliminate extra components in their system, a preamplifier that can drive the power amplifier is an important part of the design.
The DAC-9X's advanced preamplifier includes the following features:

  • Analog volume control using a low-noise, low-distortion resistor ladder similar to a network of switching resistors.
  • Digitally controlled dual-mono analog shunt to ground volume control provides zero additional noise or distortion.
  • Individually adjustable volume on each input for precise matching of source level.

The heart
As the heart of an audio system, the DAC-9X supports a wide range of inputs and formats. The Dual ESS Technology 32-bit audio DAC ESS9028Q2M decodes the left and right channels independently, improving channel separation and reducing overall noise. Professional Vishay film MELF resistors provide excellent sound quality.

Power circuit
AC noise is kept to a minimum by using a low-noise power supply with vibration damping treatment. The rest of the built-in power circuit is also designed to minimize noise.

Built-in MQA decoding
The DAC-9X incorporates MQA technology, which allows you to play back MQA audio files and reproduce the sound of the original master recording. The front panel LED lights green or blue to indicate that the unit is decoding and playing back an MQA stream or file, to ensure that the audio is identical to the source material. It glows blue to indicate that it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright holder. The DAC-9X LED will glow magenta to indicate that the unit is rendering an MQA stream or file. This gives the final resolution of the MQA file. Other design elements
:
  • The NuPrime SRC IC chip provides DSP processing where input signals are upsampled to megahertz before being down-converted to the desired sampling frequency with ultra-low jitter and distortion.
  • USB port for Bluetooth receiver and music streamer
  • Full microprocessor control with memory retention.
  • Supports DSD native playback with ASIO2.1 and DoP method.
  • Ultra-low noise JFETs in the input stage for the lowest possible noise floor.
  • Individually adjustable volume on each input for precise level matching of sources.
  • Asynchronous transmission mode.
  • Very low power consumption in standby mode.
  • Use of Bluetooth and WiFi audio receivers and dongles
  • The NuPrime has defined a USB type A port to transport S/PDIF data and 5 V power for connection to an external wireless audio receiver using just a standard USB cable. #The Omnia WR-2, BTR-HD, Stream Mini and Stream Mini DAC wireless receivers have a micro-USB port compatible with this specification. This allows a standard USB-A to micro-USB cable to be used for power supply to the receiver as well as for wireless audio data transmission in S/PDIF format.

Buy&Try applies to the entire Aune, Auralic, Quadral, Sbooster & Taga range.

Buy & try gives you as a customer the opportunity to try out the product in your own home environment, instead of standing in a stressful store and trying to form an opinion. Rooms behave very differently and affect the sound in different ways and we give you the opportunity to demo the product for a full 30 days, in your own home.

If for some reason you feel dissatisfied, just contact us and we will help you with the return shipping, you can also take advantage of our shipping agreements with lower prices. Costs that will be charged to the customer are the shipping to the customer and the return shipping to us at MYC HiFi. For return approval, the item must be returned in new condition and in the original packaging.

Regarding speakers, be aware that speakers may need a long recording time to come into their own. After a couple of hours you can usually get a taste of what to expect, but a speaker deserves 100h+ before serious listening. The speakers we sell with ribbon tweeters need several hundred hours before they start to sing. So feel free to leave the speakers on around the clock so you can quickly accumulate hours.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Buy & Try applies to goods that are normally kept in stock and not to order goods, unless otherwise agreed.

We provide at least a 2-year warranty on all products, some products have up to a 5-year warranty. With this, you avoid expensive insurances and can feel safe as a customer. In case of problems during the warranty period, contact us and we will solve it quickly and smoothly.
