The AV-7702 is an extremely versatile home theater preamplifier that easily places itself in the top class. Not only does it handle all kinds of high-resolution sound and high-quality picture, it's also packed with streaming capabilities in the form of built-in Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, AirPlay and internet radio. There is also built-in WiFi which is very convenient when you want to easily stream from a smartphone, but to get the most out of today's high-resolution audio formats such as DSD and FLAC HD, you should preferably stream via cable.
With the AV-7702, you get outstanding surround quality thanks to the powerful 32-bit SHARC DSP that provides channel separation without any crosstalk. The preamp supports surround formats such as Audyssey DSX, DTS Neo:X 11.1 and the latest Dolby Atmos audio encoding. In addition, the sound quality is further enhanced by being processed by Marantz's own HDAM circuitry before going out via 11.2 XLR or 13.2 RCA to one - or more - separate output stages.
EQUIPPED WITH DOLBY ATMOS
In addition to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, the AV-7702 is one of the first machines to support the new Dolby Atmos from the outset. Dolby Atmos delivers surround sound that takes your breath away and opens the door to true three-dimensional sound. It is a highly advanced encoding and decoding system that allows the sound to be placed exactly at its listening positions using ceiling speakers. The system is scalable to match different types of speaker setups such as 9.1.2 or 7.1.4
THE HUB OF YOUR A/V SYSTEM
In addition to all the streaming capabilities, fine audio circuitry and support for virtually all major audio formats, the image is processed with the highest precision. There are eight HDMI 4k 60Hz inputs and 3 HDMI outputs, one of which is for Multiroom. There is support for 4:4:4 Pure Color and the graphical interface makes it easy to make settings and calibrate the machine. The AV-7702 is certified by the Imaging Science Foundation, providing a full set of advanced video calibration controls to fine-tune your HDTV.
For those who want to listen to vinyl, there's a Phono MM input to connect to a turntable and with dual subwoofer outputs, you can use two subbars to really fill the room with bass that makes movie sound explode.
MARANTZ HDAM MODULES FOR BETTER SOUND
The AV-7702 is equipped with Marantz's latest Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module (HDAM), which consists of matched discrete components on a compact board instead of conventional integrated circuit boards with op-amps. These advanced HDAM modules provide an increased S/N ratio of as much as 10dB over previous versions, along with ultra-high bandwidth (100kHz -3dB). This results in an open and detailed soundstage that doesn't miss a single note.
BUILT-IN BLUETOOTH, WI-FI, AIRPLAY AND SPOTIFY CONNECT
Stream your favorite music wirelessly to the AV-7702 via built-in Bluetooth, AirPlay or DLNA and built-in WiFi. The Bluetooth function automatically pairs with devices and up to 8 devices are stored in memory. The AV-7702 also features dual antennas for better WiFi and Bluetooth transmission and increased range. Apple AirPlay allows you to stream audio from iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone or from iTunes on PC or Mac. To stream from a computer or NAS via your home network, DLNA comes in handy. Internet radio lets you access thousands of radio stations, and Spotify Connect makes it easy and fun to listen to Spotify wherever you are.
The Marantz has updated its tablet app to really utilize the full screen and it's available for both iOS and Android as well as Kindle Fire. if you prefer to control the AV-7702 via smartphone, there are apps available for both iPhone and Android handsets.
AUDYSSEY PLATINUM ROOM CALIBRATION
The advanced Audyssey MultEQ XT332 (Pro ready) room calibration kit provides a set of calibration tools that ensure every position in the room is a sweet spot for sound reproduction. Audyssey LFC reduces the transmission of low-frequency sound through walls to maintain good relations with neighbors and family members, while Audyssey Sub EQ HT helps integrate two subwoofers into the home theater system. Audyssey Dynamic Volume provides real-time overview and adjustment of sound to counteract jumps in volume between commercials and movies. Audyssey Dynamic EQ provides tonal balance at all sound levels and Audyssey DSX (Dynamic sound Expansion) allows you to add a pair of front wide or front height speakers to your 5.1 system to further broaden the soundstage.

Regarding speakers, be aware that speakers may need a long recording time to come into their own. After a couple of hours you can usually get a taste of what to expect, but a speaker deserves 100h+ before serious listening. The speakers we sell with ribbon tweeters need several hundred hours before they start to sing. So feel free to leave the speakers on around the clock so you can quickly accumulate hours.
